Successful Ways, a son of the 2004 leading
first-crop sire Successful Appeal, will stand the 2008 breeding season at
Ups and Downs Farm at Citra, Fla. His fee will be $3,000
live foal, call the farm or email udf@upsanddownsfarm.com
to discuss 2008 breeding
incentives.
Successful Ways was bred in Florida by Sort Holdings. He won 2
of 2 starts and earned $55,200 in one short season on the track. Trained by
Nick Zito and raced by Kinsman Farm, Successful Ways is owned by CJ &
John Stevens jvens@bellsouth.net .
"He's
a really nice horse, he's 16+ hands," and "He was fast;
able to win both of his two starts, one by 2 1/2 lengths going away."
"He's always done everything asked of him and we believe he will be
a success at stud also."
Successful
Ways first start came at Saratoga in the summer of 2006. He ran 5 1/2 furlongs in
1:05 while winning a MSW race at Saratoga Aug. 30, 2006. His
second race was at Belmont, an AOC, on Sept. 29, 2006 and he won by 2
1/2 lengths. He had two wins from two starts in 2006 earning $55,200. He
was injured while in training for the Holy Bull Stakes.
Successful
Ways is out of the Devils Bag mare Wicked Ways, must
see Stakes Winning lineage. We believe Successful Ways would have been
his dam's first stakes winner if he had not been injured. She is the dam of two winners from three
starters and has three foals yet to race. Sired by Successful Appeal, a grade II winner at 2, 3, and 4, Champion
Florida-bred sprinter in 1999. Successful Appeal was the leading freshman
sire of 2004 with $1,727,557 in progeny earnings and six
stakes winners from a crop of just 37 foals in 2004. The
son of Valid Appeal stood his first few seasons in Florida. His
first season in 2001 at Walmac FL. but was moved to Walmac Farm near
Lexington for the 2005 breeding season and his fee has jumped from $6,000
to $25,000, to $40,000 for 2007. His son Closing Argument has moved to
Kentucky also and his stud fee is now $12,500.
That's why we say, "NOW
IS THE TIME TO CONSIDER SUCCESSFUL WAYS!
On
the general 2-year-old sire list, Successful Appeal finished second to
Storm Cat.
